A note also on the Jewish Daily Forward profile by Laurie Shapiro: This very complimentary article about me unwittingly gives the impression that the “Scanimation” books, which use slits instead of lenses, and show a hand-drawn, silhouetted, five-frame animation, gave me the idea for my own books, whereas the reason Workman decided to publish my books, aside from their excitement for the full-color, filmlike images, was that my patent for the technique pre-dated Seder’s.
